I recently enjoyed a stay at Hotel Alicante, and as a marine biologist, I have a keen eye for detail-both above and below the surface. While the hotel's rooms felt a bit compact, I found the culinary offerings truly captivating. Breakfast, though not overly varied, included delightful bacon and eggs that kept me fueled for my daily explorations. On one particularly busy morning, I opted to explore local cuisine, venturing to Restaurante O Telefone, a short stroll away, where I discovered a flavorful take on traditional dishes. The ambiance there was vibrant, contrasting with the more subdued decor of the hotel's dining area. As for the coffee at breakfast, it left much to be desired; a little creativity would go a long way! Despite the narrow beds, I slept well, and the reception staff provided helpful recommendations for nearby eateries like TodoMundo and Jardim das Cerejas Picoas. Hotel Alicante offers a decent value; I appreciated the opportunity to dine locally while also having a reliable option just downstairs.
